Check every RAMS against the project it’s written for.
- Check your own document before you send it. Or check one from your supply chain.
- Review documents against the PCI and CPPs. Every document is reviewed against that specific project.
- Findings come back cited, highlighted and explained. The gaps are caught before somebody spends half a day reading their way to them.
- Run second-line assurance on every safe system of work in your organisation.
6.3 Personal protective equipment. All operatives shall wear hi-vis, safety footwear and helmet within the working area.
Operatives cutting kerbs shall wear disposable FFP2 masks and eye protection. Water suppression to be used where practicable.
6.4 Emergency arrangements. In the event of an incident the supervisor will contact the site office.
6.5 Hand-arm vibration. Cut-off saw use is limited to two hours per operative per shift.
Cutting kerb generates respirable crystalline silica. FFP2 has an assigned protection factor of 10; this task needs 20. And “where practicable” leaves the water to the operative on the day.
Contacting the site office is not an emergency arrangement. No first aider, no rescue, and nothing that tells an ambulance about the footway closure it has to come through.
Looked for health surveillance for hand-arm vibration.
